- Fujitsu Microelectronics Launches AUTOSAR 2.1-Compatible Driver for Automotive Onboard Microcontrollers
Tokyo, July 16, 2008 - Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited announced today the development and launch of a new microcontroller driver for its MB91460 Series of high-performance 32-bit automotive microcontrollers, jointly developed with EB, Elektrobit Corporation and compatible with Release 2.1 of AUTOSAR, the open software architecture for automobiles from the AUTOSAR automotive software standards consortium. The new microcontroller driver will be available from Fujitsu Microelectronics and EB from July 18, 2008. When used with Fujitsu Microelectronics’ microcontrollers, this new driver will offer customers a greater degree of code reusability for automotive onboard applications already developed, and greater efficiency when developing automotive software.
- Fujitsu and Sun Microsystems Unveil Next-Generation SPARC Enterprise Servers

(NASDAQ:JAVA) today announced an enhanced line of SPARC® Enterprise servers – M4000, M5000, M8000 and M9000 -- that delivers a highly scalable, enterprise-class virtualization and consolidation platform with up to 80 percent better performance on commercial applications and 2x better performance on HPC workloads and using 44 percent less energy per core. Based on the quad-core SPARC64™ Ⅶ processor and the Solaris™ Operating System (OS), the new SPARC Enterprise servers are ideal platforms for high-availability, mission-critical enterprise applications including large-scale databases, BIDW, ERP and CRM. - “Dynamic Data Center Challenge” Extended to Six New Countries after Successful First Wave
Munich, July 10, 2008--The Dynamic Data Center (DDC) Challenge, helping customers determine data center savings of at least 40 percent, has proven to be such a success that Fujitsu Siemens Computers is now extending the campaign into six new markets. The DDC Challenge, carried out at Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ own expense, invites companies to participate in a discovery workshop that will help identify savings of at least 40 percent in data center operational costs. If Fujitsu Siemens Computers is unable to demonstrate that this level of saving can be achieved, the company promises to donate 10,000 Euros to the Forest Stewardship Council, a non-governmental organization promoting socially- and environmentally-responsible forest management worldwide.
